Qualifying as a competitor for the ILC is based on the results from the Kansas HOSA State Leadership Conference (SLC). Those who earn a medal (1st - 3rd) automatically qualify for ILC. After the SLC, there will be a window of time for chapter advisors to confirm medalist attendance at ILC. If a medalist cannot attend, we will offer the 4th/5th place competitor the opportunity to compete at the ILC. At times, we do review scores for other places (6th and lower) if an opening exists but the competitor would have to achieve a comparable score to the top three medalists to be offered that spot.
This is currently a free event that is grant funded. This event is suggested for non-HOSA members to explore healthcare careers, interact with health care professionals, admissions representatives, and more. The day will include round table discussion, full group presentations, a hands-on activity, and more.
